I’m controversial?! Boring, little, old, housewife, me? Controversial? What did I do?! Telling the truth is controversial?!
Pamela Gellar says, “Truth is the new hate speech.”
Controversy can be good or bad. Jesus was controversial.
So, let me see what company Huff Po has put me in and what Huff Po considers “controversial” … Okay, Huff Po says:
1. Chris Rock said something racist against white people.
2. Chevy Chase sent profanity-laden voicemails to his boss.
3. Gilbert Gottfried tweeted jokes about Japan’s tsunami.
4. Eddie Murphy did not pay child support to his illegitimate child (didn’t he also get caught with a transvestite hooker?).
5. Dan Ackroyd believes in aliens.
6. Tracy Morgan told ‘homophobic’ jokes.
7. Randy Quaid was arrested for burglary.
8. John Belushi was a misogynist.
9. Robert Downey Jr. was arrested for drugs.
10. Jon Lovitz used bad language to explain that Obama is “a president, not a king.”
Huff Po describes me, ” …Tea Party member Victoria Jackson can be frequently counted on to offer an off color remark, whether she’s slamming “Glee”, gays or Muslims, comparing Obama to Hitler, or saying that Rush Limbaugh should run the country. During her time at “SNL,” she reportedly said, “Maybe I’m overcompensating, because everybody here is dying and going to Hell, and I’m supposed to tell them about Jesus.”
Well, I guess what the Huff Po considers my “controversy” and “off color” is; defending the Constitution and the Bible, resisting Shariah Law and it’s treatment of women as dogs, protecting the innocence of children and the sanctity of marriage, supporting the traditional family, defending Capitalism, enjoying the company of patriotic, freedom loving Americans, and sharing the loving gospel of Christ (John 3:16) with others.
I always thought “off color” meant using the F word and telling dirty, embarrassing, inappropriate, vulgar, sex jokes…like what Louis C.K. and Bill Maher do. Since when does “off color” mean verbalizing clean, polite, Christian conservative convictions? Who flip flopped the definition? And, when? Was it when ‘bad’ turned from meaning ‘evil’ and ‘unwanted’ to meaning ‘good, hip, and cool”? “Phat” never really caught on, did it?
Are the liberal, God-hating, Progressive, Secular Humanist, Communists trying to control our thoughts by re-inventing our language? Controlling the dialogue? Is this George Orwell’s “thought police”? Isn’t it called ‘propaganda’ when proponents of a political philosophy purposefully change the meaning of words in order to devalue a dissenting opinion?
Who changed the meaning of the phrase “hate speech” from an evil, curse-word laced, verbal assault to a chapter of the Bible?
Wikipedia explains, “The most common sense of Orwellian is that of the all-controlling “Big Brother” state, used to negatively describe a situation in which a Big Brother authority figure — in concert with “thought police” — constantly monitors the population to detect betrayal via “improper” thoughts.” Propaganda is also called Political Correctness. Hitler, like Obama, used ‘propaganda’ to promote his dictatorship. I resist “dictators” and “kings,” because I was born in America. “We the People” are the boss. I refuse to think like the Left.
“Gay” used to mean happy, and the enemy changed it to mean “homosexual.”
“Homophobic,” according to Webster’s Dictionary, used to mean “an irrational fear of homosexuals.” Now it is used in a derogatory way to describe a Bible believing Christian’s conviction about sin.
“Off color” used to mean bad words, now it means good words that the Left has twisted into being bad words.
I was a judge on Last Comic Standing along with Aisha Tyler and Phyllis Diller. 99% of the comics performing for us were filthy. I couldn’t laugh. I love to laugh. Steve Martin and Jerry Seinfeld make me laugh. After awhile, Aisha turned to me and said sincerely and curiously, “You don’t like sexual humor?” I was speechless. “Sexual humor?” Making a mockery of the magnificent miracle of the human body that God amazingly designed isn’t funny. Describing the reproductive and excretory systems in detail, crudely? Where’s the joke? What’s the punchline? Why aren’t the digestive and nervous systems ridiculed? Is this blasphemy against God? It feels icky to my soul.
Huff Po, my political and religious remarks are not “off color.” I’ve never used a bad word, or said anything crude, or mean or hurtful. Your “world view” is based on “man is god.” My “world view” is based on “God is God.” We will never understand each other…unless you convert. (I Corinthians 1:18, I Corinthians 2:14) And, I pray you do, because I love you.
Isaiah 5:20, “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.”
company.
