Blaine, you have a short memory. Does the Florida Qur’an burning and world-wide riots ring a bell? How about our military in Afghanistan, inadvertently burning Qur’ans—again, riots everywhere and troops were punished. There are some things it is best not to joke about. In fact when it comes to Muslims and Islam, it is difficult to approach the matter even in a civil and cordial manner, as Muslims are prohibited from even discussing the validity of their Holy Book and they consider it an insult for outsiders to criticize Islam.

    Dlloret25, most all of what you say is accurate, but you missed the entire point of my post, which was, we should not make light of or ridicule that which the Muslims have been taught all of their lives. Due to the intensity and duration of their “education”, they are for the most part, fanatic about all they have been taught and it does not make sense to intentionally cause riots and blood in the streets. And most everything in the Qur’an, in the eyes of the Western World, borders on the “extreme”. Surely, you remember the minister in Florida who burned the Qur’an, and the military in Afghanistan, who inadvertently burned several of Muslim Holy Books—there were world-wide riots, and several GIs were punished. Dlloret, I can assure you I have done my homework. One cannot just read the Qur’an and become an expert. There are reams upon reams of other official supporting Muslim documents that have been published over the eons, trying to clarify what is and what is not in that “unchangeable” Muslim Holy Book. I have been studying both their culture and the Qur’an on an intensive basis for over 3-years, and I admit, the more I read, the more issues I uncover—I am still far from being an “expert”! Unless one fully understands the Qur’an’s complete lack of chronology and the equally important ramifications of its undated “abrogations” being placed at random throughout the Qur’an, one can not even begin to say they “know what it is all about”. I have found that even the most learned Muslim scholars have difficulty sorting things out. A summary of my studies: If all of the abrogated material was physically removed from the Qur’an, and the remainder was placed in chronological order, that Holy Book would be little more than a clear “declaration” of war” against all non-believers (infidels). I will close by answering your opening question. Except for the very first few years, the Muslims have never co-existed with non-Muslims and equally important, when they have not been a war with the “infidels”, they, for most of time, have been fighting amongst themselves–and that is still going on in several parts of the world, as we speak. I was trying to say, it is such a serious matter that we should not make light of it, use satire, foul language or gutter talk. Those approaches greatly offend the Muslims.     My points were: (1) there is no religion with the actual name “Radical Islam” and no one, except in jest as in the above clip, says that their religion is “Radical Islam”. Muslims either do not believe that their beliefs are radical, or prefer to hide how radical they are. That she said she joined “Radical Islam” rather than “Islam” was a strong clue that the whole thing is satire. (2) Liberals use the phrase “Radical Islam” to imply that Islam is not inherently radical (which is not true) but rather there is a small radical branch and the rest of Islam is all Peace and Love and adherence to the Golden Rule (obvious nonsense). It is unfortunate in that sense that she used the phrase “Radical Islam” because she inadvertently supported the thesis that Islam is not inherently radical.
    
    I believe that we are in complete agreement, but that the limited bandwidth and lack of emotional clues in this communications medium makes that obscure.

Victoria, your Muslim “skit” was a very grave mistake. I have been studying the Muslim culture and Islam on a very intensive basis for the last 3 years. Both are very complex issues and for the most part Muslims are diametrically opposed to our Constitutional, Republic and freedom way of life. As a result of my studies I am about as anti-Muslim as they come, but I would never make light of their 7th century barbaric culture or religion. The latter consists of their Holy Book, the Qur’an and reams upon reams of other supporting official directives. All Muslims have been taught both their culture and religion beginning at a very early age, continuing throughout their lifetime to the tune of 5 times a day. They believe their religion is the only true religion in the world and they are obligated to impose it upon all “non-believers”, by force if necessary. They are prohibited from abandoning any facit of the Islamic Faith, under penalty of death. Also, there is the same penalty for even “discussing” the validity of their Holy Book. Consequently, there is no such thing as a “moderate Muslim”. As you can see, they take their culure and religion very seriously and have been known to take violent objection to anyone who makes light of what they have been taught. While I believe that “facts and truth” can never be blasphemy, phobic, racist or a hate issue”, they do not support that conceipt, and have rioted over many issues that we would consider trivial or debatable. I am sure you are going to hear from some very irate Muslims in the near future.

Right on Victoria! The religion of Islam detests dogs. Ask yourself….how long it took Obama to accept Ted Kennedy’s offer of a puppy. Every other President and his family that I can remember always had pet dogs and you would see them with their dogs getting off the plane, etc. When do we ever see the Obamas with Bo….rarely. They even sent BO to their vacation place in a separate jet (thank you taxpayers). Last Christmas the official White House greeting card …OK’d by the Obamas…..had guess what on the picture – BO the dog!
