Washington Times Admits: WE ARE “SOCIALIST” NOW

“President Obama has succeeded in transforming America. The constitutional republic is dead. A socialist empire has been born. This is the true meaning — and historical significance — of Tuesday’s election. From the outset of his presidency, Mr. Obama vowed to be a “transformative” leader. His re-election shows that he has achieved his primary goal: erecting a European social democracy.

…In short, America has been fractured into two nations: the tax producers and the tax consumers, the givers and the takers, those who generate wealth and those who exploit it. Mr. Obama has peeled off the larger chunk. The productive classes are being harnessed into subsidizing the nonproductive elements. Statism and sex trump entrepreneurship and self-reliance.

…Contrary to myth, liberalism is not a political ideology but a pseudo-religion — or rather, it is a substitute for traditional religion. It is driven by emotion, symbolism, irrationality and blind, intense faith. Its holy trinity is race, class and gender. Its church is the Democratic Party. And its savior —its secular messiah —is Mr. Obama.”

    Dear Vic: When a far right wing paper like the Washington TImes proclaims “We Are Socialist Now”, it’s not an admission. It’s a silly politically-charged albeit false accusation. Best to employ correct terminology before you post inaccurate headlines.

    After reading your posting policy, it seems like you’re a little inconsistent with your views. On twitter, you make comparisons of Obama to Hitler, which certainly seems like discourteous behavior (calling names). Do you prefer people to abide by those rules on your site while you’re fine with violating your own terms elsewhere? What about “do unto others”?

      They can’t even get their name-calling straight. For some reaons, those on the far right never see the absurdity in calling Obama a socialist and then comparing him to Hitler. Apparently they’ve never studied history or political science. Hitler was a National Socialist, which is fascism, not actual socialism, and fascism is a right-wing ideology. I guess that’s lost on them.

        My dear, what you know about Fascism vs. Socialism vs. Communism, Marxism, cynicism, narcissism and numerous other “isms” is likely enough to maybe fill an entire thimble and you just proved it. A serious study of fascism not someone’s opinion of who is or is not one would be a good starting point for one as brilliant as yourself, by the way.

      You failed to illuminate any inconsistency unless you subscribe tho the theory that truth is offensive. If that’s the case, you can’t be reached. If it’s not then why would you find what is a very accurate and genuinely expressed analogy or comparison discourteous?

    In a demographic sense this is true. If the majority rules–having dismantled the rule of law–and the majority opts for big government, nationalized healthcare, nanny state, tax and spend political leaders, then the country has tilted to socialism. However, there is an army of 53 million voters out here who will fight against socialism for as long as it takes to defeat it. It won’t take long. Socialism always fails because it implodes over its own spending.
