Where is China, Australia, and UK on this list? They have bans on guns now. UK and Australia’s crime has gone up since gun bans.

    • Tommy Kissner

It sure has, case and point!!!!

    • JJM123

These are Reported Murders. An earlier article suggested the UK statistics not properly describing the results. Did not read carefully but understood that 1 reported crime might not properly describe # of victims. So would their Sandy Hook be 1 crime or 26 murders?? Supposedly UK crime rate 4 to 5 times greater than US.

Source references would be nice for this article. To say WHO is to vague.

I agree with Sara O. Will you provide a link to the WHO study/site which declares this? Thanks!

I’m pretty sure in most of the countries in the grim list above do not follow laws (now that about former USSR countries for sure), so firearm ban is not very relevant. In US laws are respected, so stricter firearm rules might be more efficient.
Also, high level of violence in the listed above countries might be much higher without firearm ban. So, this list basically proves nothing, this statistic does not show causal dependencies.

    • Tommy Kissner

Okay, which ones? Every country has law abiding citizens as well as non law adiding ones, and I’m pretty sure you’re not an expert on all of the laws and and who obeys them in these countries etc. Check the US for the strickest gun laws and you WILL see the highest gun crime in those cities! Period!!! So I guess your ststement means even less!!!! Check the mental health of these most recent killings and you will see exactlly what the problem is! But you and your cronies won’t admit of course!!!! EVER!!!

      • http://vkelman-blog.blogspot.com/ vkelman

Tommy, I’m not an expert. Nether is this article author. All this is on a level of gossips.
I lived the first 33 years of my life in Soviet Union, however, and the next 17 years here in the US. So, I do have some experience and can compare. And let me assure you: the level on which Americans follow the law is many times higher than for average Russian. For the whole history of Russia law was never followed.
Now, your argument about higher crime volume in American cities with stricter gun laws obviously means nothing by itself. For this to be meaningful you need prove that it’s not opposite cause, when stricter gun laws were introduced in those cities where violence initially was higher.

When you are argue with someone who is against guns, only studies that say guns owned by citizens will be respected so it fruitless debating with them.

    • Huapakechi

The only thing stricter gun laws will do is increase the number of people who will knowingly break the laws in regards to guns.

  • Tommy Kissner

Maybe Piers Morgan should read this, after he is deported to face the phone hacking charges in England!!!!

  • Huapakechi

Strange that so many murders are being done without legal firearms….. Has any study been done about the number of murders in the U.S. done with LEGAL guns?
