Eric Metaxas: “Whatever happened to “Virtue”?”

Eric Metaxas, author of “Bonhoeffer” and a new book, “If You Can Keep It,” is urging Christians to get involved – or they will lose their freedom, they will lose their country…the name “America” may stay, but there will be nothing inside. He said America is not an ethnic group but an idea – “self-government.” It had never been done before in history, not even the Greeks (Eric is Greek)… who had little city-states. Eric said that all of our […]

Finished Chemo Today! Start Movie Tomorrow!

Today, May 9, 2016 – finished the prescribed chemotherapy for breast cancer treatments – Jan. 2016 to May 2016 – 4 rounds of Red Devil and other one (I always forget the name) that knocked me down, then 12 rounds of Taxol which wasn’t too bad…I can’t wait until my hair grows back. Very excited to be starting a new movie role tomorrow in my month off before six weeks of radiation begins. The movie is “Andy’s Rainbow” and I […]

New Original Song: “It’s a Broken World, Baby!” on Rusty Humphries Show

I was briefly on the Rusty Humphries radio show April 7 and he asked me about my cancer. I said it wasn’t so bad. Then, he asked me if I was really happy or just faking it. What a great opportunity I had to share the good news of Jesus Christ…and I blew it! I said something stupid about wearing pink wigs. In my defense, my 87 year old Dad had just been taken to the E.R. in an ambulance […]

I Love This Book: “Of Moose and Men”

Torry Martin and Doug Peterson wrote a new book, “Of Moose and Men: Lost and Found in Alaska.” I’ve always wanted to know what it is like to live in Alaska. They tell me. I also like to read about people struggling with their Christian lives because I do. Torry explores that. My curiosity was fed. My funny bone was tickled. And, my love for Christ was strengthened. I highly recommend this original work of art from this original red […]

He’s With Us in the Flames (great sermon)

8 Chemos down, 8 to go… but who’s counting? “The promise is not I (God) will put out the fire. The promise is I will be with you in the flames.” – @howertonjosh @TheBridgeSH Here is a fantastic sermon, “God in the Fire” by Josh Howerton from The Bridge Church. It’s about pain, suffering and God. (http://bridgesh.com/media/podcast/20160313.mp3) In Daniel 3, when Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were thrown into the fiery furnace, “… King Nebuchadnezzar was astonished; and he rose in […]

Eric Metaxas is the new Johnny Carson!

Author Eric Metaxas is brilliant, funny and …deep. His speech at the National Prayer Breakfast 2012 in front of Obama is a MUST SEE. Metaxas was born in Queens, New York City, he grew up in Connecticut and graduated from Yale University, where he edited the Yale Record, the nation’s oldest college humor magazine. And, he believes in Jesus. Eric interviewed me today for his new radio show, The Eric Metaxas Show. We talked about my recent cancer diagnosis and […]

Actor Angus Jones: “Compromise means Standing for Nothing”

At 11:45 “the name of the game right now is compromise…according to the Bible, when that happens, we’re no longer standing for anything…you’re either hot or you’re cold…we need to pick our side now, you need to pick your side, you need to be 100% or nothing at all…if you’re going to be for the world, be for the world…”choose you this day whom you will follow”… James 4:4 …”friendship with the world is enmity with God, whoever is the […]

  • “Surprised by Joy” by C.S. Lewis

“Surprised by Joy” by C.S. Lewis

“I gave in, and admitted that God was God … perhaps that night, the most dejected and reluctant convert in all England.” Below is an excerpt from C. S. Lewis’s autobiography where he “recounts the process of his own conversion as a young professor at Oxford in the 1930s.” “The one principle of hell is — “I am my own.” George Macdonald … It seemed to me self-evident that one essential property of love, hate, fear, hope, or desire was […]

Listen to DONALD TRUMP and ME and RAY STEVENS Today!!!

Listen to the DONSMITHSHOW.COM today Nov.7, to hear interview with DONALD TRUMP, me, and RAY STEVENS!! This photo is from 1990, a photo shoot for People Mag. If Trump would have married me back then, he’d have replaced me a couple times! I’m too old for him now. I’m 56! I appreciate his stand for LEGAL immigration and what he is doing to shake up the status quo in politics, but Ted Cruz is the true proven conservative, constitutionalist. I […]

  • I Have Cancer!

    I Have Cancer!

Me and my grand daughter Ever Grace, age 4, singing a piece of my new song, “A Happy Ending.” It all happened pretty suddenly. I went to the Walk In Clinic for a cough. I asked the Nurse Practitioner if the numb spot near my underarm was my lymph gland fighting the cough. He quickly sent me to the Vanderbilt Breast Clinic, (God bless him), an awesome place full of great people. Suddenly, I was in surgery (double mastectomy) and […]

Excellent Chuck Missler Video on Revelation

I highly recommend this deep, rich, fascinating study of the book of Revelation by Chuck Missler. His passion for the Bible is contagious as he points out that its 66 books penned by over 40 authors over thousands of years, “is an integrated message system, and I don’t mean thematically, every detail, every number, every place mark, even the mathematical structures underneath the text, exhibit very skillful design, and that design had to emerge from outside space/time because it anticipates […]
